[001] Our approach
A structured process
from beginning to end.
UPD supports clients across the full project lifecycle, helping define requirements early, coordinate technical inputs, manage review pathways and maintain confidence through to completion.

01 Project Coordination
Our Project Coordination team are the first point of contact of UPD from the initial engagement to closing off of the project.
They work closely with our internal team to enable our business to achieve the outcomes for our clients and with our clients to achieve the project outcomes which UPD was engaged to complete.

02 Utilities Team
Our Utilities team are responsible for the client liaison and stakeholder management with the key utilities providers within WA.
Our team work with clients on high level technical projects and developments.
The majority of these projects are high risk, have high level technical specifications and restricted power solutions. We provide solutions.

03 Inspection & Project Delivery Services
UPD provides a comprehensive site inspection and project delivery service to ensure electrical infrastructure is completed in accordance with approved designs, utility standards and requirements.
Our team coordinates inspections throughout the construction process, working closely with developers, contractors, engineers and the utility operator to identify and resolve issues early, minimising delays, and maintaining project quality and delivery.
We manage compliance of documentation, facilitate asset handover, coordinate independent third-party testing, and ensure energisation of projects is delivered on schedule.

04 Communications & Lighting
Underground Power Development provides comprehensive NBN and Opticomm design and project support services for residential, commercial, and land development projects.
Our team manages development and stage applications, prepares detailed designs and drafting to NBN and Opticomm standards, and completes accurate as-built documentation for submission and approval.
We also conduct on-site inspections, coordinate closely with NBN or Opticomm throughout the project lifecycle, and maintain clear communication with clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
In addition, we manage the relocation of existing communications assets, delivering compliant, efficient solutions from planning through to project completion.

05 Residential Projects
Greenfield Developments
- Large-scale developments on previously undeveloped land.
- Typically include hundreds or thousands of lots.
- Require new roads, power, water, sewer, drainage, telecommunications and public open space.
Urban Infill
- Redevelopment within existing suburbs.
- Increases housing density while utilising existing infrastructure.
- Often involves lot subdivisions or grouped dwellings.
Brownfield Redevelopment
- Redevelopment of previously developed sites.
- May require demolition, environmental remediation and infrastructure upgrades before redevelopment.
Residential Subdivision Process:
A typical subdivision follows these stages:
- Site identification and feasibility assessment
- Structure planning (where required)
- Concept subdivision layout
- WAPC subdivision application
- Conditional approval
- Detailed engineering design
- Construction of infrastructure
- Clearance of subdivision conditions
- New titles issued by Landgate
Electrical Distribution
Typical subdivision electrical infrastructure includes:
- Underground power
- High Voltage (HV) networks
- Low Voltage (LV) networks
- Distribution substations
- Street lighting
- Consumer connections
